Which Islands To Visit & When In Phuket

There are so many islands around Phuket that it is hard to choose which one is the best to visit. They are not as close to Phuket as most people think so not easy to see them all in one day. Some guests choose to spend a full day around the islands in the north east of Phuket, while others prefer to choose the islands down south.

Depends what you are looking for - there is Phang Nga Bay, unique for its scenery and kayaking between lagoons; or if you don’t mind cruising further, Phi Phi island has the best snorkelling and millions of tropical fishes. If you have two days available, you can combine them and enjoy the best of both destinations.

According to the requirements of each client, we can build perfect custom made boat trips. Just let us know your dates and number of people, so we can plan the unforgettable island hopping cruise for you.

We recommend to choose your day trip from one of the top 5 best group of islands here below:

Phuket West Coast

FULL DAY / HALF DAY

We offer half or full day trips along the west coast between October to May.

Starting from Yacht Haven or direct pick up on Bangtao beach, you get to cruise along all the best beaches in Phuket like Surin, Laemsing, Freedom beach, Kata Noi, Ao Sane even down to Coral and Maiton island during a full day trip.

Enjoy snorkeling at Weo island off Bangtao beach and end the day with the best sunset cocktails at Cafe’ Del Mar on Kamala beach

RACHA ISLANDS

FULL DAY

Two beautiful islands located south of Phuket. Not as famous as Phi Phi and James Bond, has stunning secluded bays great for snorkeling and swimming.

Very clear and blue waters and an excellent fishing spot – the best around Phuket for catching tunas, sailfishes, trevallys and many more.

Our guests generally like to enjoy their lunch at the beach restaurant of The Racha luxury resort located on the main beach in Racha Yai.

Great for diving trips too!

PHI PHI ISLANDS

FULL DAY

Since the movie “The Beach” in 1999 with Di Caprio it has become the most popular destination around Phuket.

An absolutely stunning group of islands located 30NM south east of Phuket. It can take from 1hr to 2hr depending on sea conditions so definitely requires a full day. Plenty of things to see like monkey beach, maya bay, pileh lagoon, snorkeling at loh Sama Bay, Viking cave and a last stop at the beautiful Bamboo island.

Most our customers love to stop at Zeavola resort beach restaurant for lunch – a luxury resort with a private hidden beach only reachable via boat.

Phi phi islands is another one on the “to do list” of Phuket.

PHANG NGA BAY

FULL DAY / HALF DAY

Famous for its James Bond Island or kayaking inside secret lagoons and caves. Also the Bridget Jones movie “The edge of reason” 2004 was filmed around Phang Nga. An incredible cruising scenery between over 44 traditional limestone karsts jutting out of the emerald waters. These tight and tall islands remind the “Faraglioni” near Capri island – stunning!

Located north east of Phuket island, Phang Nga Bay is known to be even prettier than the more famous sister Halong Bay in Vietnam.

Definitely one to have on the “Top 10 things to see in Phuket”.

Not as popular as James Bond and Phi Phi, but has a great combination of emerald and clear waters to enjoy some snorkeling.

Much less famous, but it has an incredibly stunning small archipelago of lime karsts stone islands too.

One of them, Koh Hong, named after its secret lagoon which can be accessed by boat during high tide, is known to be one of the nicest islands in Thailand.
