PHUKET ISLAND ADVENTURES: WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO DO

Welcome to Phuket, Thailand’s largest and probably, most famous island. Travellers from around the world rush to Phuket for relaxation and adventure. Overall, people also come here to enjoy the azure waters, beautiful beaches, and tasty food.

Top places to visit in Phuket Island

#1 Thalang

Thalang District is located on Phuket Island’s northern coast. Folks come here to rest on its beautiful beaches, while others come for the fun water sports activities, and yet others come for the spectacular nightlife. Locals and tourists alike also flock to Wat Phra Thong, a temple steeped in a local legend that houses a half-broken statue of Buddha that was shattered during a Burmese invasion. The temple is thought to be one of the island’s oldest. It was visited in 1909 by King Rama VI, who was still the crown prince at the time and gave it its official name.

2 Karon Beach

Karon Beach in Phuket is one of the island’s longest, encompassing kilometres of pure white sand with views of the Andaman Sea. Karon Beach in Phuket also has good windsurfing conditions. When the weather is quiet, it is an excellent area for a swim, but when the winds pick up, large waves pound the wide-open beach here, so swim with caution if you go. On Karon Beach, you can also go sea kayaking, banana boat rides, waterskiing, and wakeboarding.

3 Phuket Town

Phuket Town is located on a lovely harbour on the island’s southeastern shore. The building exhibits the influence of Chinese immigration and a Portuguese aesthetic, and it stands in stark contrast to the more traditional Thai forms seen elsewhere. Another thing to do in town is to go to the Phuket Trickeye Museum. The Phuket Trickeye Museum is an interactive 3D painting display that provides spectacular photo possibilities and family enjoyment. The artworks on show are of exceptional quality.

4 Rawai Village

Rawai has some beautiful beaches and other sights that are worth seeing. Located at the southern end of Phuket Island, the Rawai beach is not a swimming beach. Still, it does offer spectacular views of the adjacent islands and a tranquil local environment. This is one of the places where you can get a taste of genuine Thailand. It is the home of a group of people known as sea gypsies, who were nomads before settling in this settlement.

5 Wat Chalong

Next on the list is another temple worth visiting on the island. Wat Chalong is a Buddhist temple and historical monument near Phuket’s Chalong Bay. It has life-sized wax replicas of Luang Poh Cham, Luang Poh Gleum, and vintage Thai furniture and Benjarong china. Many Thai tourists and residents come here to worship and pay their respects to the monks. The temple is lavishly embellished with several representations of Buddha and imagery from Buddhist and Thai mythology.

6 Kata Noi Beach

Kata Noi Beach is a beautiful location to unwind and soak up the sunshine. The beach is soft during the low season, and the sea is clean and blue. It is a modest and serene beach that is generally uncrowded even during peak tourist season, making it an excellent site for those who prefer to avoid the noise of tourist hotspots.

7 Phang Nga Bay

Phang Nga Bay is a renowned tourist destination conveniently accessible from Phuket. The location has grown even more in popularity due to Hollywood blockbusters such as Star Wars. You may explore Phang Nga Bay in a single day. This is plenty of time to sail around the bay, stopping for kayaking, swimming, and other activities.

8 Phi Phi Islands

This next site on our list is one of Thailand’s most expensive islands, especially for accommodations. Even though they can be packed, the majestic views easily make the Phi Phi Islands one of the tourists’ favourites. The majority of visitors to the Phi Phi islands hope to find a pristine tropical paradise. Furthermore, the island’s popularity grew as the setting for the Leonardo DiCaprio film The Beach.

9 Nai Harn Beach

Guests of all ages will appreciate Nai Harn Beach’s wide, sugary sands and the laid-back Thai atmosphere. Nai Harn Beach is located in a tranquil harbour, with only a handful of hotels, restaurants, and stores in the area. With its pristine white beach, verdant hills, and islands, it is one of Phuket’s most beautiful bays.

10 Bang Pae Waterfall

Bang Pae Waterfall is a renowned tourist attraction in Thalang’s Khao Phra Thaeo National Park. For vacationers, the falls are an excellent recreational destination. The Gibbon Rehabilitation Center is another intriguing attraction near the Bang Pae waterfall parking area. The Wild Animal Rescue Foundation of Thailand’s research division works to rescue, rehabilitate unwanted or seized gibbons from the pet trade and tourist sector and reintroduce qualified candidates back into the wild.

11 Sirinat National Park

This national park’s goals are to promote it as a tourist attraction and preserve natural resources. It is now heavily commercialised, with numerous resorts in and around the park that are frequented by a significant number of people.

12 Big Buddha of Phuket

This final destination is Phuket’s Maravija Buddha statue. The Big Buddha’s construction began in 2004, and the statue is dedicated to Thailand’s late King, His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej. The Big Buddha itself is massive and majestic, and the view from the summit is spectacular, with views of Phuket Island and its surroundings.
